About the Author
was seen by the late Rāmadāsa Sena from Behrampur.
The book Caitanya-candrāmṛta is very popular in Bengal.
Those who oppose Lord Gaurāṅga can have their minds
purified by reading this. Needless to say, by reading
it, Lord Gaurāṅga’s devotees become absorbed in an
indescribable ocean of transcendental bliss. During four
months, the Lord of Goloka, Who is the very object of
worship, distributed the rarely attained kṛṣṇa-prema, and
the insignificant living entities around certainly hoped to
obtain at least a portion of that imperishable and priceless
reservoir.
Some people try to establish that the māyāvādī resident of
Kāśī named Prakāśānanda and the great Vaiṣṇava named
Prabodhānanda are the same person. However, we cannot
believe in such an opinion because in connection with
Prakāśānanda, the māyāvādī resident of Kāśī, the Caitanya-
bhāgavata (Madhya, 3.3,18,35-40) states the following:
ei rūpe navadvīpe prabhu viśvambhara
bhakti-sukhe bhāse lai’ sarva-anucara
eka-dina varāha-bhāvera śloka śuni
garjiyā murāri-ghare calilā āpani
gupta-vākye tuṣṭa hai’ varāha-īśvara
veda-prati krodha kari’ balaye uttara
hasta, pāda, mukha mora nāhika locana
vede more ei mata kare viḍambana
kāśīte paḍāya beṭā prakāśa-ānanda
sei beṭā kare mora aṅga khaṇḍa khaṇḍa
