Mṛdaṅga—a clay drum used in kīrtana.
Mṛtyu-loka—“the world of the mortals,” Earth.
Muhūrta—(a Vedic time unit) forty-eight minutes.
Mūrti, śrī-mūrti—the deity form of the Lord or of an ācārya.

Nakṣatra—one of the twenty-seven stars.
Nāmācārya—“the ācārya of chanting the holy names,” a title
conferred upon Śrīla Haridāsa Ṭhākura by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu.
Nandagrāma—the hill in Vraja that hosts the palace of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s
foster father, Nanda Mahārāja.
Nanda Mahārāja—Lord Kṛṣṇa’s foster father in Vraja and the
husband of Queen Yaśodā.
Nandas, the Nanda dynasty, the Nanda kings—the nine successive
kings who ruled over the ancient province of Magadha a few hundred
years before Cāṇakya. The last of them was overthrown by Cāṇakya
and Candragupta.
Nārada Muni—a great sage and preacher of devotional service to
Lord Viṣṇu.
Naraka—hell.
Nārāyaṇa—Lord Viṣṇu.
Narottama Dāsa Ṭhākura—a prominent preacher of the Gauḍīya
Vaiṣṇava sampradāya in Bengal after the time of Śrī Caitanya
Mahāprabhu. He had been studying under the tutelage of the Gosvāmīs
of Vṛndāvana and then returned to Bengal to preach.
Nindaka—one who is excessively prone to criticize.
Nīti—moral teachings.
Nīti-śāstra—collections of ethical and moral instruction.
Nivṛtti-mārga—the path of detachment (as opposed to pravṛtti-
mārga, the path of material enjoyment).
Nṛsiṁha(deva), Lord—a celebrated incarnation of Lord Viṣṇu
