          Raväva—a stringed instrument.

          Çaiva—a person who primarily or solely worships Lord Çiva.

          Sakhya-bhäva—the devotional sentiment of friendship. See also
          Bhäva.

          Çäkta—one who worships the material energy (in her forms such
          as Kälé or Durgä) as the supreme reality.

          Çälagräma-çilä—one of a genre of stones that are nondifferent
          manifestations of Lord Viñëu.

          Samädhi—a tomb of a departed saint.

          Sampradäya—a sect of spiritual practitioners maintained by the
          principle of preceptorial succession and distinguished by a unique
          philosophical position.

          Sandeça—a particular kind of sweet made of fresh, soft cheese.

          Säìkhya—one of the six classical schools of Indian philosophy,
          professing analytical discrimination between spirit and matter.

          Sannyäsa—the state of being a sannyasi.

          Sarasvaté—(1) the goddess of learning; (2) the name of several
          rivers.

          Shenai—a double-reed wind instrument similar to the oboe.

          Siddhi—mystic perfection. The eight types of mystic perfections
          mentioned in Çrémad-Bhägavatam (11.15.4–5) are as follows: aëimä,
          the ability to become as small as an atom; mahimä, the ability to
          increase one’s size practically unlimitedly; laghimä, the ability to
          become extremely light; präpti, the ability to acquire whatever one
