Vraja—a synonym of Våndävana.
Vraja-väsé—a resident of Vraja.
Våndävana—(1) the uppermost transcendental abode of the
Supreme Lord Kåñëa; (2) the same abode descended to this
planet and comprising the present town and surrounding area
of Vrindaban (approximately ninety miles southeast of Delhi),
wherein Kåñëa enacted childhood and adolescent pastimes five
thousand years ago.
(Çréla) Vyäsadeva—the avatar of Lord Kåñëa who (approximately
five thousand years ago) presented the Vedas and Puräëas in
written form and compiled the Vedänta-sütra and Mahäbhärata.
Yavana—a Muslim.
Yoga—one of the six classical schools of Indian philosophy,
propounding an eightfold process that aims to free the practitioner
from material existence.
Yuga—one of a cycle of four ages in the history of the universe.
