           Çräddha—a ceremony for the benefit of departed forefathers.
           Çrauta—that which is heard in discipular succession and is according to the
                 Vedas.
           Çré—“opulence” or “possessed of opulence”; (1) an epithet for Rädhäräëé and
                 Lakñmé; (2) a term, usually prepositive, to denote respect for a person or a
                 sacred book, place, or other object.
           Çré Gauòéya Maöha—(1) an embellished mode of reference to the Gauòéya Maöha
                 institution; (2) the original Gauòéya Maöha, in Calcutta.
           Çréla—an honorific prefix to names of exalted devotees.
           Çréla Prabhupäda—(in this book, refers to) (1) Çréla Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté
                 Prabhupäda; (2) His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
                 Prabhupäda.

           Çrémad-Bhägavatam—the topmost  Puräëa,  composed by Çréla Vyäsadeva to
                 present confidential and definitive understanding of Lord Kåñëa, His
                 devotees, and pure devotional service to Him. Also known as the Bhägavata
                 and the Bhägavata Puräëa.
           Çrématé—(1) feminine form of the honorific address Çré; (2) an epithet of
                 Rädhäräëé.
           Çrépäöa—place of the appearance or bhajana of a great Vaiñëava.
           Çré sampradäya—succession originating from Lakñmé, of which the prominent
                 äcärya in the current age is Çrépäda Rämänujäcärya.
           Çré Vaiñëava—devotee in the Çré sampradäya.
           Çréväsa (Paëòita, Öhäkura)—a contemporaneous associate of Lord Caitanya.
           Çréväsa Aìgana—(1) the site in Mäyäpur of Çréväsa Öhäkura’s home; (2) the
                 temple established thereat by Çréla Sarasvaté Öhäkura.
           Çåìgära—amatory love.
           Çruti—“what has been heard”; (1) sound; (2) the Veda, sacred knowledge in
                 the form of eternal sounds or words, heard or communicated from the
                 beginning of creation and transmitted orally by brähmaëas from generation
                 to generation; considered the original and thus most authoritative section
                 of çästra, having precedence over småti. See also Çästra; Småti.
           Sthalé—place.
           Sthäna—place, abode, position.
           Sudarçana—the disk weapon of Lord Viñëu, Kåñëa.
           Çuddha—pure.
