Transcendental Diary, by Hari Sauri Prabhu, My Glorious
Master, by Bhurijana Prabhu, and so on. Other books by
Satsvarupa dasa Goswami that are well worth reading are:
Prabhupada Lila, Prabhupada Nectar, Japa Reform Notebook
and Reading Reform Notebook.
Bhurijana Prabhu’s book, Surrender Unto Me, and Sivarama
Maharaja’s book, The Bhaktivedanta Purports, are both
helpful for understanding Bhagavad-gita As It Is. However,
to understand them, especially Sivarama Maharaja’s book,
requires a fairly good knowledge of the Gita. Therefore, I
recommend these books to those who have read the Gita at
least three times.
The Bhaktivedanta Purports is useful for those who may
doubt that Srila Prabhupada’s commentary is biased. We are
sometimes asked, “Why does Prabhupada translate ‘yoga’ or
‘karma’ as ‘devotional service’?” This book fully, logically, and
analytically puts such doubts to rest.
Bhakti-sastri Study Guide, by Atmatattva Prabhu, is a course
book recommended for those who have the time to go through
it. It takes many hours and many days to follow this course, but
those who do it will be benefited with a good understanding of
Bhagavad-gita As It Is.
Recommended for those with a scientific bent of mind is The
Hidden History of the Human Race, which presents scientific
evidence that refutes Darwinism and modern anthropology.
Hrdayananda Maharaja’s book, The Natural Path, is good.
Ravindra Svarupa Prabhu’s Endless Love is appealing to those
of intellectual bent.
Among the books of Bhaktivinoda Thakura that have
been published, not all are suitable for those who have not
deeply understood Srila Prabhupada’s books. The best book
