                             The Vedas Reveal
                            the Absolute Truth

Before examining the question Who is supreme? we will first
define the term God as indicating the transcendental Supreme
Being, the origin and supreme ruler of everything. Next, we shall
establish the foundation of our investigation, for a discussion
based simply on opinions or beliefs cannot bring a proper
conclusion—as conveyed by the proverb “Millions of people,
millions of opinions.” Therefore, to understand any matter, one
requires reliable evidence. But what is conclusive evidence for the
existence of God or demigods? Can we see their forms with our
eyes? No. Yet how much can we see with our eyes? We cannot even
see our eyelids, the nearest objects to the eyes, what to speak of
seeing and understanding the Absolute Truth, who is far beyond
           material sense perception.

The next tool for inquiring about God is logic. We may see a painting
and naturally conclude that an artist created it. Yet by merely
staring at a painting, we cannot know details about the artist—his
appearance, his personality, his likes and dislikes, and so on. To learn
such specifics about the artist, we need to hear from someone who
knows him or can introduce him to us. Only in that way can we
come to know things about the artist that are beyond our limited
sensory perception and logic. Similarly, we may conclude that since
everything that we observe around us has been created by someone,
consequently also the planets and universes must have been created
by a person. That is logical. But can we understand via logic who
