           Püjala räga-patha—“They worshiped on the spontaneous path,” from a poem
                 by Çréla Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté that captures the tenor of his mission.

           Püjäré—“one who performs püjä”; a brähmaëa who worships the Lord’s deity
                 form. See also Arcana.
           Puëya—piety, pious deeds.
           Puëya-karma—scripturally ordained pious activities.
           Puräëa—a historical supplement to the Vedas. There are eighteen principal
                 Puräëas.
           Pure devotee—See Çuddha-bhakta.
           Pure devotional service—See Çuddha-bhakti.

           Puré—(1) the holy place in Orissa that is the principal abode of Lord Jagannätha;
                 (2) a sannyäsa title.
           Pürëimä—full-moon day.

           Puruñottama—a name of Kåñëa meaning “the supreme male.”
           Puruñottama-dhäma or -kñetra—a name of Puré and the surrounding area.
           Puruñottama Maöha—a Gauòéya Maöha branch established by Çréla Sarasvaté
                 Öhäkura at Puré.
           Puruñottama-vrata—special vows followed during the sacred intercalary month
                 of Puruñottama.

           Puñpa-samädhi—a memorial for a departed paramahaàsa Vaiñëava established
                 by entombing some flowers from his original samädhi, and considered a
                 replica of and as venerable as the original. See also Samädhi.
           (Çré, Çrématé) Rädhä, Rädhäräëé, Rädhikä—Lord Kåñëa’s internal potency and
                 most intimate consort.
           Rädhä-kuëòa—the bathing place of and nondifferent from Çrématé Rädhäräëé,
                 ascertained by Gauòéya Vaiñëavas to be the most sacred location in all
                 existence, the quintessence of all holy places.
           Rädhäñöamé—the appearance day of Çrématé Rädhäräëé.
           Räga—(1) (Gauòéya Vaiñëava usage) spontaneous intense loving attachment to
                 Kåñëa not governed by scriptural regulations, characteristic of the original
                 inhabitants of Våndävana; (2) a musical mode.
           Räga-märga, Rägänuga-bhakti, Räga-patha—the path of following  rägätmika-
                 bhaktas to cultivate love of Kåñëa in intimate exchange.
