That you have been cheated is not unusual; rather, it is a normal
condition of the modern world. Even Srila Prabhupada was
cheated in business dealings during his grhastha life. And for
some reason devotees, although not all, seem to be particularly
unreliable in money matters. I have several times been cheated
of money by devotees – once very badly. Nevertheless we can’t
do anything in this world unless we extend trust to others.
Prabhupada said that to train a man to the point of trusting
him would take many years and thorough understanding of
our philosophy. Learning who to trust and who to be careful of
is largely learnt by painful experience, yet even a person who
has for years been apparently trustworthy may eventually
show a worse side. Such is the way of the world and the best
we can do is to ourselves not violate the faith of others, while
making all efforts to get out of this disgusting place and to go
back home back to Godhead.

By now my disciples should know that I don’t approve of them
watching TV.
Here’s another “Don’t.”
Don’t browse the web unless you have some specific purpose
connected with Krishna consciousness or with your secular
job. WWW is like a smelly fishmarket with all kinds of
nasty slimy things detrimental to advancement in Krishna
consciousness. Even many of the so-called Krishna conscious
sites are actually traps set by cunning rascals that are designed
to mislead devotees.
Of course, a devotee actually cultivating a taste for Krishna
consciousness will have no interest in spoiling valuable time
