           Vidhi-märga—the path of bhakti governed by adherence to scripturally ordained
                 regulations (and thus distinguished from räga-märga).

           Vidvad-rüòhi—the meaning (rüòhi) of a word accepted by the learned (vidvän);
                 the internal, transcendental meaning of a word. See also Ajïa-rüòhi.
           Vidyä—knowledge.

           Vigraha—“form.” It often indicates the Supreme Lord in His manifestation as
                 the deity (q.v.).
           Vijaya-vigraha—a small deity of a temple who participates in festivals on behalf
                 of the larger deity, who generally remains on the altar. In South India and
                 in  ISKCON, this deity is more commonly known by the synonymous term
                 utsava-vigraha.
           Viläpa-kusumäïjali—The composition of 104 verses by Çréla Raghunätha däsa
                 Gosvämé expressing his desperate separation from Çrématé Rädhäräëé, and
                 craving Her service.
           Viläsa—pastime, sport, appearance, manifestation, charm, shining, beauty.
           Vinoda—pleasure.
           Vipralambha, Viraha—separation (of lovers). Lord Caitanya taught that the most
                 exquisite worship of Kåñëa is in the mood of separation (viraha-bhäva);
                 hence this mood is the heart of Gauòéya Vaiñëava dharma. Devotees in
                 this mortal world also feel viraha from devotees departed from it.

           Viñaya—object, concern, sphere, category, etc.
           Viñaya-vigraha—“the form of the object,” the object of prema, i.e., Kåñëa. See
                 also Äçraya-vigraha.

           Viñëu—the Supreme Lord, especially His majestic four-armed forms in Vaikuëöha
                 and His expansions for creating and maintaining the material universes.
           Viñëupriyä—the eternal consort of Lord Caitanya who appeared in His pastimes
                 as His second wife, famous for her strict practice of Kåñëa-bhakti after He
                 accepted sannyäsa.
           Viñëusvämé—the original preceptor of the Vaiñëava sampradäya named after
                 him.

           Viçva—universe, universal, earth, world, all, entire, whole.
           (Çréla) Viçvanätha Cakravarté—(seventeenth century) a prominent Gauòéya
                 äcärya best known for writings of his that illuminate mädhurya-bhäva.

           Viçva-Vaiñëava-räja Sabhä—“universal royal court of Vaiñëavas”; the organization
                 founded by Çréla Bhaktisiddhänta Sarasvaté and his associates in 1919 that
