But patience is also required. Although we may desire earnestly,
we cannot expect to achieve Krsna within a day. After all, great
yogis meditate for thousands of years just to get a glimpse of
the toe of His beautiful lotus feet. Still, that earnestness is our
best qualification for achieving Krsna quickly. But also, patience
is essential. In this regard, please consult Nectar of Instruction
verse no. 3 (by Srila Prabhupada).
That you are considering the association of nondevotees to be
a suffocation is a very good sign. Association of materialistic
people is most unpalatable for pure devotees. Our solace is to
associate with Krsna by reading His books, such as Bhagavad-
gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam.
Also, by distributing these books, we get so much blessing from
Srila Prabhupada, who so much wanted to uplift all the poor fallen
conditioned souls by distributing these books. Srila Prabhupada
said, “There is no comparison, there is no competition within
the whole universe, with Srimad-Bhagavatam. Every word is for
the benefit of human society. Somehow or other if the book goes
in his hand he will be benefitted. If he reads even one sloka—or
even one word—his life will be successful. Therefore we stress
so much on the book distribution. Please distribute books,
distribute books, distribute books.”
Regarding an easy introductory book on Lord Caitanya—
actually I had already decided to make such a book. There is
a great need for it. I will start work as soon as possible (which
may not be for 6–8 weeks). Let us introduce people to their best
friend, Lord Caitanya.
You are welcome to write to me as and when you like. Or if you
prefer, you may wish to correspond with any lady devotee. You
could try writing to ISKCON B. For devotees like yourself living
away from ISKCON temples correspondence is a valuable method
to stay inspired.
