Çréla Prabhupäda fought for Kåñëa. He made no secret that his
manifesto was “meant to bring about a revolution in the impious
life of a misdirected civilization.” To effect this, he tirelessly

promoted Kåñëa consciousness, also emphasizing the need to
do so energetically, effectively, and aggressively. He challenged
everyone in the world and every theory that even subtly opposed
the acceptance of Kåñëa as the Supreme Personality of Godhead
and the maxim that the sole duty of every jéva is total, unmitigated
surrender at Kåñëa’s lotus feet:
Our fighting is against atheism. They say, “There is no God,” “God
is dead,” “I am God,” “You are God.” We are fighting against these
principles. So our fighting is very strong. Don’t think that we are
sitting idly. I have come here to fight with these atheists. We go
everywhere. We are fighting with atheists all over the world. 2
Atheists may be very expert in mental speculation and may be so-
called great philosophers, but they can be defeated by a Vaiñëava
firmly situated in his conviction and God consciousness. Following in
the footsteps of Çré Caitanya Mahäprabhu, all the preachers engaged
in the service of iskcon should be very expert in putting forward
strong arguments and defeating all types of atheists. 3
We have to fight, otherwise what is the meaning of preaching? If you
think that everything will be accepted very easily, then what is the
necessity of preaching? 4
