12 Jaya Çréla Prabhupäda!
Prabhupäda continues to make thousands of devotees
through his books and through his movement. Therefore even
amongst great äcäryas, Çréla Prabhupäda is extraordinary.
With every step, Çréla Prabhupäda purified this world
of billions of sinful reactions. His every glance and
movement was an instruction. Every atom of Çréla
Prabhupäda’s being was surcharged with the energy of
Rädhä and Kåñëa for infusing others with love for Them.
Prabhupäda’s intense Kåñëa consciousness, love for all
living beings, depth of personality, and all other
transcendental qualities are so fully present in him that the
more we discuss them, the more we become enlivened.
The more we become enlivened, the more we realize that
we cannot reach the end of Prabhupäda’s qualities, for
they are wonderful, endless, and unlimited.
Çréla Prabhupäda is best known for having spread
Kåñëa consciousness all over the world. Nowadays we
almost take it for granted that there are devotees in
America, Russia, Japan, Africa, and everywhere in the
world, but let us not forget that just a few years ago it was
unimaginable that non-Indians could possibly adopt
traditional Vedic culture with restrictions on down to “no
tea-drinking.” It was unimaginable that Gauòéya
Vaiñëavism would ever be more than a cultural subsect
restricted to Bengal, Orissa, and Våndävana. Today the
Hare Kåñëa movement is an established religious force.
Westerners and other non-Indians chant Hare Kåñëa and
preach Bhagavad-gétä with a conviction and enthusiasm
rarely found even in Indian Vaiñëavas. How is it possible?
Who is responsible for all this?
